Toni Slater: Nutritionist - BSc(Hons), NT Dip CNM, MBANT

I have always enjoyed food – the colours, the smells, the textures, the flavours, cooking and eating - and as a teenager I became
curious about how foods influence health and mood. Having suffered with PMT and debilitating period pain, I started to research how my diet could be playing a part. This was the beginning of my interest in nutrition.
In my 20s I also suffered from stress-related gastrointestinal symptoms. Again my interest and attention to my diet meant I was able to get rid of the symptoms and regain my health.
Based on these personal experiences, I embarked on
three years of training with the College of Naturopathic Medicine and
qualified as a Nutritional Therapist.
My training means that I am now skilled at making
connections between symptoms and potential causes, based on a thorough understanding of how the body works and how foods and nutrients fit with this.
My personal approach is
balanced and practical and I have an analytical and systematic thinking style - strengths for my practice as a Nutritionist.
I am a member of the professional body, the
British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy. This means that I am bound by a strict code of conduct and ethics, and I am fully insured.
